Popular Wizarding World Ride To Close Next Week at Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando visitors planning their next trip should be aware of an upcoming temporary closure for the Hogwarts Express. This iconic attraction, which transports guests between the Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands, will be closed for scheduled maintenance from January 28 to January 31, 2025. The closure is part of Universal’s ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance their guest experience.

The Hogwarts Express is a favorite among Harry Potter fans, offering a scenic journey between Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade with immersive storytelling, familiar characters, and magical surprises. The train provides a seamless way for guests to travel between the two parks while feeling like they’ve stepped into the Wizarding World. However, like all attractions, it requires regular upkeep to ensure it continues operating safely and efficiently.

This isn’t the first time the Hogwarts Express has been temporarily shut down this year. Earlier in January, it underwent a brief closure for similar maintenance needs. Universal’s attention to detail ensures that rides remain operational and safe for the heavy guest traffic they experience daily. Though the timing may be inconvenient for some, the short duration means it will be back up and running quickly.

Aside from the Hogwarts Express refurbishment, Universal Orlando has several other major changes on the horizon. Perhaps the most exciting is the grand opening of Epic Universe in May 2025. The new park will feature multiple themed lands, including an expanded Wizarding World with the Ministry of Magic, a How to Train Your Dragon area, and the Dark Universe, where guests can explore Universal’s legendary monsters in a whole new way.

In addition to new park openings, other attractions across the resort are undergoing transformations. These changes signal a new era of entertainment at Universal Orlando, offering guests more immersive and exciting options in the near future.

As Universal continues to evolve, staying informed about ride closures and upcoming additions is key for planning the perfect trip. Though the Hogwarts Express will be offline for a few days, there’s still plenty of magic to experience at Universal Orlando.
