When you visit a Disney Resort, there are so many amazing things to do to have a truly magical vacation — from incredible attractions to delicious food, great hotels, fun shopping, and more. Disney Resorts truly feel like another world, but it is important to remember that they are in the real world. Real people work at a real place with real rules. While Disney and its Cast Members always want Guests to have a great time, those Guests need to remember that the theme parks aren’t a free-for-all.
Every year at Disneyland Resort, Lunar New Year is celebrated at Disney California Adventure Park. As part of the celebration, there are food booths, specialty treats, and even a fun parade. It was during the parade that Guests saw something shocking. A woman climbed on one of the parade floats — very close to the Cast Member playing Goofy –, blew kisses to the crowd, and quickly jumped off the float.
Video of the shocking and dangerous move quickly made the rounds on social media.
@smolbobasaurx3 don’t be THAT guest 😤 #disney #disneylandresort #disneyland #dca #disneycaliforniaadventure @disneyparks
While many voiced their anger at the woman’s audacity, others wondered where the Cast Members were. When it comes to Disney parades, Cast Members typically walk alongside each float. So, in theory, there should have been Cast Members nearby to confront the unknown Guest. However, it is possible that they were at the front of the float and didn’t see what she did until it was too late.
When Guests visit Disneyland Resort, they are expected to abide by certain rules, including engaging in dangerous or discourteous behavior. The Disneyland website lists the following as a “Guest Courtesy Policy”:
Please show common courtesy to fellow Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior, jumping lines or saving places in lines for others. For your safety and the safety of others, please refrain from running.
If Disney feels a Guest behaves in egregious behavior while at the Resort, they reserve the right to remove that Guest from the Resort. Guests can also be “trespassed” from the property, meaning they are not allowed to visit any Disney Resort for a certain amount of time. Particularly bad behavior can result in a lifetime ban.
