Disney is constantly working, and reworking rides for refurbishment, and now Space Mountain is next on the list.
Refurbishment is part and parcel of the Disney experience. Guests know to expect that for their favorite rides to be as magical as they are, they need to close down and undergo maintenance so that they can continue to provide the Disney magic fans flock to the Theme Parks for. In fact, just recently, Pirates of the Caribbean just closed for refurbishment as well.

Per the Disneyland Paris Resort’s official calendar, starting September 12, multiple rides, including the following, will be closing for refurbishment.
- Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain: September 12 – 14
- Alice’s Curious Labyrinth: September 12 – 16
- Frontierland Playground: September 12 – October 23
- Rustler Roundup Shootin’ Gallery: September 12 – 30
During a closure, Disney can ensure everything is working correctly and update anything if they need to, and the Disney Parks are filled with other rides that Guests can enjoy instead!
This is incredibly different from the other instances of bad behavior leading to rides closing down in Disneyland Paris. Earlier this year, one of the attractions in the Avengers Campus closed down because Guests would keep climbing all over it. And then recently, another attraction at Disneyland Paris was yet again being misused in a similar manner, leaving many wondering whether the ride would be closed again like the previous time.
