Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World Resort fans have been mourning the very-recently closed Disney theme park ride called Splash Mountain since its permanent exit from the Disney World lineup last week — and apparently, these fans are taking their obsession with the ride to a very expensive level!

We already knew that some ardent Splash Mountain fans were actually spending money on bottles or bags of water that theoretically came from the water ride.

Bags or bottles of the water that has allegedly come from Splash Mountain (sometimes with “certificates of authenticity”) are being sold on sites like eBay for prices that started out at relatively inexpensive levels — but now that bidding wars have started, some people are bidding thousands of dollars on the water!

According to this report, “since its closure, containers of water and pebbles claimed to be from the much-loved ride have been listed for sale on eBay for thousands of dollars.” At least one stash of the Splash Mountain water is taking in bids of more than $10,000!

The Splash Mountain ride is being replaced by a ride about the New Orleans heroine known as Princess Tiana. It will be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

There is nothing actually unique about this water — not to mention the fact that proving the water’s source seems impossible — so many people have been shocked to learn that some Disney fans are genuinely planning on spending as much as $10,000 on a bag or bottle of water that might not even really be from the Splash Mountain ride.

The fact that some buyers might actually try to drink the water is even more disturbing, for health reasons that should be obvious.

Apparently, if the Walt Disney Company really is in need of cash after taking so many losses, then Disney could just have sold off all of the water from Splash Mountain to make some extra money!

Were you surprised and disturbed to see that some people are not only spending thousands of dollars on containers of water from a theme park ride, but also attempting to drink it?
