Stephanie Beatriz Meets Her Character Mirabel From ‘Encanto’

If you’ve seen ‘Encanto‘ in theaters since it premiered in November, or if you’re planning on seeing it in the future, then you’ll most likely be curious about the actress behind the main character in the movie, Mirabel! Mirabel is a misfit who longs for her own magical powers after watching the rest of her Colombian family use their abillties–but she finds her own inner strength when her family’s magical house is threatened. Stephanie Beatriz is the actress who plays Mirabel, and if she looks familiar, you might recognize her from the comical cop show ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ or Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical ‘In the Heights’!

Mirabel herself is now at Disney California Adventure Park for Meet and Greets, and Stephanie visited her character in person just in time for Disney’s Festival of Holidays! According to the Disney Parks Blog, “Guests can explore [Mirabel’s] Colombian traditions and culture and visit Mirabel in a “casita” inspired by the enchanted home of her magical family, taste delicious “arepas con queso” available at a nearby food cart and enjoy live music by El Sabor Bueno, appearing twice a week at Paradise Gardens Bandstand”.

You can see Stephanie’s encounter with her character Mirabel in the video above! “I got to meet Mirabel herself and it was amazing!” Stephanie said. “‘Encanto‘ is the story of an extraordinary family…They’re called the Madrigals and each one of them has a magical, amazing, incredible power! All of them except for one…Mirabel! But, when her family’s magic is threatened, she might be the only one that can save the day!”

Stephanie also emphasized how nice it was to celebrate ‘Encanto‘ at Disneyland California Adventure Park during the holiday season. “Seeing ‘Encanto’ come to life at Disney ¡Viva Navidad! is amazing!” she enthused. “Just in time for the holidays…in this incredible little casita that we have here.
