Fans Agree This is the ONLY Time Recording at the Disney Parks is Okay

recording disney park rides

Taking videos at the Disney Parks has been a topic that many have been incredibly frustrated by. It has often led to bad and disruptive behavior on the part of Guests. In fact in some places, streamers and vloggers have gotten so out of hand that Disney has actually banned streaming and vlogging at some Disney Parks. This said, there are always exceptions to every rule. While most Disney Guests would most certainly agree that they’ve often felt taking videos on rides is either pointless or simply inconsiderate, there is one occasion in which Disney fans all agreed that taking a video on a Disney ride was absolutely the right decision.

One Disney fan prompted a discussion recently which led to this discovery. Disney Guest and Reddit user u/axtran took to the social media platform to fellow Disney fans why they recorded videos of rides. The user commented ironically,

I feel like I am missing out on a greater slice of life by not figuring out why people whip out their phone to record attractions instead of enjoying them. Like are y’all going to AirDrop that to a TV later that evening with some popcorn and be like “man the replayability of my cell phone video of Frozen is the best part about that last trip to Epcot?”

While the majority of the comments were from Guests explaining their experiences recording rides or, at the very least, sharing their memories of other Guests taking videos during rides. Many mentioned how Guests often take videos during dark rides, which they particularly didn’t understand.

However, one Guest shared their story of why they took ride videos, and many fellow Guests immediately agreed it was a wonderful decision. Disney Guest u/Material_Yoghurt_190 shared that they have a disabled sibling. They explained their sibling has many medical needs, and doctors aren’t sure what the issue is. Because of this, the commenter’s parents are always a bit afraid of the unknown since they don’t know how much time they have left with the commenter’s sibling.

The user shared, “My mom video taped every. Single. Ride we went on in December. Because she wanted to record my sibling.”

This particularly touching story was one that universally resonated as a unique and special reason to video tape one’s experience at the Parks, with one fellow fan saying, “See, I don’t have a problem with this and actually think it’s great! You are making something unique and something you can cherish!”

All said and done, it’s truly wonderful to be able to save a record of the Disney magic and Disney experience!
