11. The Wild Beauty of Canada
While tackling the countries, you’re sure to notice the many kinds of plants and flowers along the way—accents in authenticity and nods to that particular nation. But nothing compares to Victoria Gardens at the Canada Pavilion. Inspired by British Columbia’s famed Butchart Gardens, the Victoria Gardens stand out as the largest of all the gardens in Epcot’s World Showcase and the most diligently maintained. Disney horticulturists take special care in overseeing the constant upkeep and new inspirations for these gardens. They even change some of the plants seasonally, like incorporating red and gold accents in the autumn and adding white ground floral in the winter to symbolize Canadian snows.
Another reflection of Canada’s wild beauty can be found with the pavilion’s own arborous display of the Rocky Mountains. Though a considerably scaled down model, this stunning representation gives a nod to Canada’s bountiful beauty of the great outdoors, as do the added touches of a canyon and a 30-foot cascading waterfall.
