Exclusive Disney Experience Allegedly Leaves Child “Traumatized”

Traumatic Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience

Many little girls dream about what it would feel like to be a real princess. And there is no better place to live out a princess dream than at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney brought some of the most iconic princesses to life — like Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Tiana — to life and Disney Parks celebrate them every day. Disney wants every young guest to be able to live out their princess dream, if they want, and they can do that by visiting the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom Park.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a unique — but expensive experience — only Disney can provide. Guests between ages 3 and 12 can become some of the most popular Disney Princesses — or can even be transformed into a Knight! Some of the dress options are Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog.

Some little girls and boys have their hearts set on which Disney Princess they want to become. They can’t wait until they walk through the boutique’s doors and pick their dress. Sadly, for one little girl, her experience at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique may be something she would rather forget.

According to claims made by Redditor u/EdmundCastle, their four-year-old daughter was very excited about her first experience at the Boutique. She couldn’t wait to have her hair done and wear the green coronation dress that Princess Anna wore. However, when they got there, they claimed things quickly went downhill.

We did our first Disney World trip with our four year old last week and it was amazing to watch it through her eyes. We had built up Bippity Boppity Boutique with her for months going into it to make sure she wanted to actually do it. Her heart was set on being Anna in the green dress from Frozen. I saw on TikTok that offerings were limited and tried to get her to have a backup option but you know how four year olds are…

Of course, they were out of several sizes for Anna and Elsa. She was heartbroken. It was so frustrating to have booked this pricy experience and then the only dress she wanted isn’t available. The staff were very patient about it but the whole experience was her being heartbroken and mopey. After all, she’s four. 🤷🏻‍♀️ She ended up picking a different princess but no matter what we said or did, she was just really sad.

And of course that green coronation dress isn’t sold anywhere online so I can’t just buy it after the fact either. So just a warning if you’re going for the BBB experience, ask at the front desk to check and make sure they have your kid’s sizes in stock before starting the experience. Overall, I think it’s a really flawed system if they’re going to have inventory issues.

Many commenters jumped in and reported that they had also experienced inventory issues when they visited Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. One even alleged that their child had to go through four different princesses before she could find a dress they had in her size. Now, it is important to note that Disney does say not all dresses may be available in all sizes, but the Original Poster was shocked at just how low they say inventory was.

They were out of 3, 4 and 5/6 in Anna and 4 in Elsa. They said they were limited with Ariel too. She ended up with a 4 Cinderella but wasn’t thrilled. I’m glad I paid $200+ to create a traumatic memory for her. 😂 Definitely try and set expectations before you go!

Some Redditors suggested purchasing a dress before going to the Boutique. Disney has some deluxe princess dresses for sale online, and it is less expensive to buy the dress and just have their hair done at BBB.

One thing that many wanted to see was prebooking what princess choices were your top ones. Right now, guests book the experience and then pick a princess when they get there. However, that leads to some little ones being disappointed when they can’t get the princess outfit they want. Picking your top choices before you get there could help alleviate the alleged problem.
