Splash Mountain Retheme Vandalized With Surprising Label at Disneyland Park

An interesting incident has unfolded around Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as it prepares for its grand opening at Disneyland Resort. An anonymous update on Google Maps has humorously labeled the popular ride as a “bathroom.”

This quirky act of digital vandalism captures the attention of both fans and casual park-goers alike. The mischief surfaced when a Reddit user, known as u/LtSmash_, noted the peculiar entry:

Ok, who did this?

Most Disney Parks fans reacted with laughter, generating a flurry of humorous commentaries surrounding the event.

One user whimsically referred to it as “Tiana’s Baño Adventure,” reinforcing the playful spirit of the joke. Another joked that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and a bathroom were both similar “log rides.”

While the prank has elicited chuckles, it also sheds light on the mixed emotions surrounding the ride’s transformation. As Tiana’s Bayou Adventure nears its opening, the attention it draws—whether through humor or criticism—indicates how deeply ingrained its predecessor, Splash Mountain, was in the hearts of Disney Parks fans.

“Tiana’s is better than Splash was,” one commenter argued. “The only people calling it terrible — which is what tagging it as a bathroom is implying — are YouTubers who make their living screaming about how everything is ‘woke’ now and they hate it.”

Controversy Around Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

The shift from Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has not come without its fair share of controversy. Fans of the original attraction, based on the controversial Song of the South (1946), have protested against the ride’s closure. Voices on social media echoed their discontent, leading to the formation of petitions aimed at halting the transformation.

The protests are rooted in sentimentality and nostalgia. Many Disney Parks fans felt that the log flume experience connected them to years of childhood memories, making the change a bittersweet issue. Discussions about the Princess and the Frog (2009) retheme have spanned across various platforms, with some individuals openly lamenting the loss of the original ride while others applaud the more progressive direction toward inclusive storytelling.

Critics argue that the original narrative is outdated and problematic, while supporters of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure celebrate the representation of Black culture and the story’s connection to New Orleans.
