A Disneyland Park visitor claims she nearly “drowned” on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, posting a viral Instagram video warning others about sitting in the front row. The dramatic claim sparked widespread mockery from Disney Parks fans, questioning how someone could be surprised by getting wet on a water ride.
Instagram Warning Goes Viral

Instagram user @evesbeautycanvas posted a reel that accumulated thousands of likes after riding Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park. She initially skipped wearing a poncho but reconsidered before boarding, which she says saved her from disaster.
“PSA: do NOT ride Tiana's front row unless you want to drown,” she captioned the video. “…I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS! I thought the ponchos was a lil OD but babbbyy if I didn't have it on…I would have had to buy a whole outfit or go home.”

Comments quickly flooded the post, with many pointing out the obvious nature of water rides.
“Wait you mean SPLASH mountain?” @kimadict asked sarcastically.
“Girl u did not drown,” @dro143_ wrote.

However, some Instagram users validated the Disney Park guest's concerns about the attraction's wetness level.
“I will never ride this ride again,” @bethinnocenti commented. “Rode it on my birthday and of course they put me in front row. It really doesn't matter where you're seated you get soaked. Horrible to have soppy shoes, socks and pants.”
“When I rode this for the first time it felt like I got baptized,” @yesitsmolly_ replied.
Replacing Splash Mountain

Tiana's Bayou Adventure opened in 2024 as the replacement for Splash Mountain at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park. The retheme eliminated connections to Song of the South (1946) and instead built a story around The Princess and the Frog (2009).
The attraction follows Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, and Mama Odie as they recruit musicians for a New Orleans-style party. While the ride system remains identical to Splash Mountain, Walt Disney Imagineers updated various components during renovation. Many Disneyland Resort guests report the rethemed attraction soaks riders more thoroughly than the original.
Mechanical Failures Continue

Tiana's Bayou Adventure has faced persistent technical problems since opening. Days ago, a Magic Kingdom Park malfunction went viral, showing the finale Princess Tiana animatronic without her wig, her exposed mechanical head jerking unnaturally.
The previous week, Disneyland Park evacuated guests from Tiana's Bayou Adventure after a log began flooding. Photographs captured the ride vehicle nearly submerged in murky attraction water. Disney provided clothing-replacement vouchers to all passengers on the affected log.
