A new year brings an exciting lineup of new member-exclusive events by D23, and one of the first events of the year is honoring Disney Legend and Founder of the Walt Disney Archives, Dave Smith right at Disneyland Park!

The event takes place January 24, 2022, with two available presentation times at the Main Street U.S.A. Opera House near the front of Disneyland. During this special D23 event, attendees will hear presentations on the Walt Disney Archives with a focus on memories from Smith’s colleagues and friends.
Featured in the presentation will be Becky Cline, the current director of the Walt Disney Archives, who will share information on Smith’s role in founding the archives and working to preserve Disney’s legacy for generations to come.

The event will continue by further recognizing Dave Smith with one of the highest honors bestowed upon anyone who has made lasting contributions to the Walt Disney Company by sharing the new window for Smith recently unveiled on Main Street U.S.A.
Guests in attendance will also go home with a commemorative gift that will only be available to those fans at this event.
As the event takes place during Disneyland’s normal park hours, both valid theme park admission and a reservation are required to enter the park.

Tickets are available online at d23.com for the 10:00 AM and 11:15 AM presentations and are only available (complimentary) to D23 Gold and Gold Family Members.
If you purchase tickets to this or any other in-person event by D23, be sure to arrive about 15 minutes early to allow time to check-in (and of course, you can stay in the park after the event concludes and have a magical time exploring Disneyland with some newfound knowledge of Dave Smith!)
