At the Walt Disney World Resort, rides are known to break down from time to time. Guests being evacuated out of attractions has seemingly become such a common occurrence that some would even question if the incidents are newsworthy.

Well, it appears that there are even some ride incidents that can surprise us. In this case, a log filled with Guests began to take on water and sink on Splash Mountain.

While Splash Mountain is a Magic Kingdom Park water ride, the Guests are not supposed to get this wet. Luckily, it appears that the log began to sink after taking its plunge down Chik-a-pin Hill’s 50-foot drop as the video shows the Guests jumping out in the middle of a log jam known to occur just before Guests are off-loaded. We can also see the log behind them is almost on top of the sinking ride vehicle, but it is unclear if this overlap is what caused the sinking to occur.

It is also unclear at this time how Disney World Cast Members were able to remove the sunken log and get the remaining Guests off of the ride.

Disney’s Splash Mountain log flume ride is one of the most iconic attractions at the Magic Kingdom and has sister attractions in Disneyland Park in California and Disneyland Tokyo. Disney officials announced the Theme Park ride is set to receive a complete retheme based on Disney’s Animated Feature Princess and the Frog.

Disney World describes the attraction on its website as the following:

A Hare-Raising Ride

Gently drift through a colorful Southern bayou along with happy-go-lucky Br’er Rabbit as he looks for his “laughing place.” But be warned: Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox are in hot pursuit of this wayward hare.

Glide by over 100 adorable Audio-Animatronics geese, frogs, raccoons, possums, bees, alligators and other down-home critters as they sing classic Disney ditties, including “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and “Ev’rybody’s Got a Laughing Place.”

Then hang on to your hats—this delightful musical cruise ends in an exciting 5-story splashdown into a thorny Briar Patch!
