“Time To Be Moving Along” – New Water Shows, Experiences Announced for Tokyo Disney Resort

Here's Everything Guests Need To Know

A crowd gathers near the Tokyo Disney Resort Splash Mountain, their laughter echoing off the pavement. Then it happens—a sudden, roaring wave of water crashes down, soaking everyone in its path. No one’s safe—not the riders, not the onlookers, not even the Cast Members waving from the sidelines.

But this isn’t some water ride malfunction or weather gone rogue. It’s the heart-pounding, drenching chaos of Tokyo Disney’s all-new summer spectacle. So what exactly is going on at the world’s most whimsical theeme park? And why are people lining up to get soaked?

Tokyo Disney Resort: The Return of a Fan-Favorite—Now with Extra Splash

This summer, from July 2 through September 15, 2025, Tokyo Disney Resort is launching its boldest seasonal celebration yet with the Summer Cool-Off event, headlined by a souped-up version of one of its most beloved attractions: Splash Mountain “Get Soaked MAX Plus.”

If you thought last year’s “Get Soaked MAX” was intense, this new version turns the dial up to 11. Expect bigger sprays, more powerful water jets, and unexpected splashes that’ll leave riders—and even people standing nearby—completely drenched. For those brave (or unlucky) enough to face it head-on, a limited-edition ride photo will be available to capture the moment of water-logged glory.

It’s more than just a ride overlay. It’s a full-on aquatic experience—and that energy spills out across the entire resort.

Soaking Up the Fun Across the Parks

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are transforming into splash zones filled with mist, music, and surprise geysers. Everywhere you turn, there’s a new way to cool off and a new reason to laugh.

Toontown becomes a wacky water wonderland. The Jolly Trolley’s Trolley Barn is rigged with mist sprays, while the Toontown Fire Department and Fireworks Factory shoot out streams of water, catching Guests off guard and soaking them in true cartoon fashion.

Near the entrance of Adventureland, a new “Get Soaked” Zone has been installed—featuring unpredictable water spouts that shoot water without warning. Even the most prepared Guests may find themselves caught in the crossfire.

The high-energy Baymax’s Mission: Cool Down parade returns this year, enhanced with a new theme song by J-pop rock band Mrs. GREEN APPLE. The upbeat soundtrack is timed to six daily water shows that shoot mist and sprays into the crowd. The song will also rotate into the soundtrack at The Happy Ride with Baymax for the duration of the event.

DisneySea Gets Its Own Soaked Spectacle

While Disneyland is making waves, Tokyo DisneySea is no stranger to getting guests wet either.

This year’s summer overlay of Aquatopia features a drenched “Get Soaked” version. The trackless ride will blast even more water at riders in chaotic bursts. It’s splashier, wilder, and just as unpredictable as the ride itself.

Over at Mediterranean Harbor, a brand-new live spectacle is making its debut: the “Get Soaked” Harbor Splash Show. Water cannons, timed music, and energetic performers bring this afternoon show to life, turning the harbor into an explosive splash zone for fans willing to take the drench.

Need a break from the heat without a full soaking? The Caldera Corridor in Mysterious Island now offers a relaxing mist zone—perfect for cooling off as you transition between thrill rides and shows.

Why This Matters: Fun Now, Blueprint for the Future

On the surface, this event is Tokyo Disney doing what it does best—pushing the boundaries of themed entertainment. But look closer and it becomes clear: this is Disney reimagining the very fabric of the theme park experience.

Rather than relying solely on rides and shows, Summer Cool-Off makes the spaces between attractions just as exciting. The unpredictability of getting soaked, the spontaneity of mist zones, the rhythm of parades that double as water shows—it all contributes to an environment that keeps Guests engaged, moving, and laughing.

And in an era of rising temperatures and growing interest in experiential entertainment, this strategy could easily inspire parks around the world to rethink what summer fun looks like.

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
