Disney Parks around the world have a special opportunity for their Cast Members, and the Tokyo Disney Resort has just picked the opportunity’s newest recipient! Mika Ogasawara is the new Disney Ambassador in Tokyo. “When my name was called, I thought I was dreaming. And then I became happy, and was filled with gratitude for everyone who had supported me,” the 36th Disney Ambassador said excitedly. The interview process for Disney Ambassadors takes weeks, and can be very rigorous. Four Ambassador finalists are chosen from over 200 Cast Members, and it was Mika who received “the coveted role”. Disney Ambassadors serve as representatives for the entire Cast in the Tokyo Disney Resort; they are the voice for all of the Cast Members, and help share Cast Life with the world.

Mika has already been a Tokyo Disney Resort Cast Member for three years, and currently works at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. Now, her Ambassador training begins! After three months of training sessions, she will “officially start her Disney Ambassador term” on January 1st 2022. The Disney Ambassador tradition first started at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983, and Mika knows that there’s a strong legacy behind her. “I would like to share with people around the world the dreams and happiness of Tokyo Disney Resort,” she said. “I also aspire to become the Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador who is admired by many people.” Disney’s Aulani Resort also just announced its new Disney Ambassador in Hawaii, Kanoa Kawai. “Being a Disney Cast Member has changed my life and the direction of my professional career…I have the honor of being part of a company that makes dreams come true,” he said. Like Mika, Kanoa is excited to have “a positive impact on his Cast around him”.
