Warning: Disney Child Makes Major Rule Break, Endangering Health

A strange and somewhat alarming incident at Walt Disney World has left many visitors shocked after a guest shared a story about a child drinking water from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disney. The unexpected behavior was brought to light in the comment section of a viral TikTok post about “unhinged things” seen at Disney parks, leaving many to question the safety of the park’s water features.

Absolutely Unhinged

The incident occurred just the day before the TikTok was posted. A family, who had been riding the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, noticed a child in the boat ahead of them performing a highly unusual action. According to the comment, the child was dipping their hand into the lagoon water and drinking it. The commenter shared:

“This literally happened yesterday but my family was on Pirates and my sister and I noticed that a kid in the boat in front of us was dipping his hand in the water and DRINKING IT 😭😭.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride, which is one of Walt Disney World’s most popular attractions, is known for its detailed pirate-themed scenes, animatronic characters, and catchy tunes. Guests glide through the ride in boats that travel along a lagoon filled with water, which plays a central role in the ride’s immersive environment. However, the water in the lagoon is not intended for drinking. It is part of the park’s larger water system, used to create the effect of a pirate-infested Caribbean landscape, and is treated with chemicals to maintain cleanliness. The lagoon water is not potable, meaning it can pose health risks if consumed.

This shocking moment quickly caught the attention of TikTok users, with many expressing disbelief that a child would drink from the ride’s water, which is exposed to thousands of park visitors daily. Several users voiced concern for the child’s health, pointing out that the water contains chemicals, bacteria, and other contaminants that make it unsafe for consumption.

A Real Danger

While the incident was unsettling, it raises important questions about theme park safety and the need for better communication regarding the risks associated with water features. Despite the ride’s constant flow of guests, it’s unclear whether park staff were notified of the child’s actions or if any intervention occurred. The situation highlights the importance of supervision and education, especially for young children in busy park environments.

Though the moment was disturbing, many social media users found humor in the situation, with some joking that the child might have been unaware of the water’s cleanliness. However, others were quick to emphasize the seriousness of drinking non-potable water, underscoring the need for parents and guardians to stay vigilant and ensure their children understand the rules and potential hazards in the park.

This bizarre incident serves as a reminder for both visitors and Disney staff to prioritize safety at all times, especially in high-traffic areas like Pirates of the Caribbean. While the park aims to create an enchanting and immersive experience, it’s equally important that guests are educated about the risks involved with interacting with the park’s water features and follow safety guidelines.

  1. Where were the child’s. parents? Most of the time when children behave badly and/or dangerously, the parents are the problem. Yes, it’s easy to get distracted but keeping you offspring safe is your job, not cast members’. If your kid has a meltdown, ruining the experience for everyone around you, it’s your job to take your kid somewhere tquiet to.decompress. Sorry if you view that as anti-child, bht it isn’t. I’ve done many things with friends with kids, and they knew the signs to look fo, whether it might be a need for lunch or a time to take a nap. If all parents behaved like them, this incident wouldn’t have happened.
