Summer entertainment season has officially started at Universal Studios Florida, and it happened a little earlier than many fans expected.
The Universal Mega Movie Parade soft opened on June 3, giving guests an unexpected chance to experience one of Universal Orlando Resort's largest entertainment offerings before its scheduled return.

For visitors who happened to be in the park, the surprise performance felt like a bonus attraction.
The parade has become known for bringing some of Universal's biggest movie franchises directly into the streets of the park. Massive floats, themed performers, iconic vehicles, and recognizable characters create an experience that celebrates decades of blockbuster filmmaking.
Guests watching the soft opening were able to see favorites from Ghostbusters (1984), Jaws (1975), Back to the Future(1985), and Jurassic Park (1993).

One of the biggest talking points from the parade's return involves a noticeable change to the opening sequence.
According to @bioreconstruct, skaters now lead the way before Doc Brown and Marty McFly arrive to kick off the parade. The Back to the Future stars appear to have been moved into a more prominent role this season.

It's a small change, but one many fans immediately noticed.
Doc and Marty remain two of the most recognizable characters in Universal's film library, and placing them near the front of the parade gives the event a nostalgic opening that longtime movie fans are likely to appreciate.
The parade's return is also significant because last year's rollout wasn't exactly smooth.
When Universal first introduced the Mega Movie Parade in 2024, several elements were still being finalized throughout the season. Universal later added another Jurassic Park float, and guests had to wait until October before the famous Ghostbusters Ecto-1 finally joined the lineup.

As a result, many guests never experienced the complete version before the parade wrapped up its first season.
This summer could be different.
With most of those growing pains now behind it, the parade appears ready to hit the ground running. The early soft opening suggests Universal is confident enough in the operation to begin welcoming guests before the official launch date.
For Universal Studios Florida, the parade remains an important part of the overall guest experience. It gives visitors another reason to stay in the park longer, creates excitement throughout the day, and showcases some of the company's most beloved film properties.
Whether guests come for the dinosaurs, the Ghostbusters, the shark from Jaws, or the time-traveling adventures of Doc and Marty, the Universal Mega Movie Parade once again looks ready to entertain crowds throughout the summer season.
