Both the Walt Disney World Resort and Southwest Airlines are celebrating 50th anniversaries this year, and in celebration of the two historic milestones the companies are collaborating on a new partnership!

The collaboration includes a wrapped Southwest plane featuring the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary logo of Cinderella Castle plus some smaller artwork featuring “it’s a small world,” Spaceship Earth, Disney characters like Olaf, Flounder, Tinker Bell, Bambi, and even Orange Bird, along with other designs around the exterior of the aircraft. The Southwest plane wrap follows other special 50th anniversary wraps on Walt Disney World transportation including those on Disney buses, the Disney Skyliner, and the monorail.

Inside the Southwest Boeing 737-700, Guests will find custom shades by window seats featuring decals for “The Most Magical Celebration on Earth,” as well as additional characters and artwork covering the overhead luggage storage bins.

The airline is launching a 50 Days of Giveaway sweepstakes, awarding a winner and up to three guests with an opportunity to visit Walt Disney World during the 50th anniversary celebration, with accommodations, a Disney gift card, park tickets, and of course, airfare on Southwest. It’s easy to enter the contest online at southwest.com/50days.

A custom video of “The Most Magical Celebration on Earth” will also be shown to Guests flying aboard Southwest flights, so you may be able to catch some extra magic hyping up the celebration on your next flight down to the Orlando International Airport.

For the Disney fan without an upcoming trip in the future, we recommend following the Disney Park’s Blog live stream of both Harmonious, the new fireworks spectacular coming to EPCOT, and Disney Enchantment, coming up this week in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort.

And when you do make your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to check out some of the 50th anniversary artwork on display around the main terminal at the Orlando International Airport.
