5. Tree of Life Awakenings

In lieu of a whole host of new nighttime activities and attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom the park has recently extended its hours of operation. These new evening hours now allow park visitors to enjoy never-before-seen after-dark effects and imagery. One such visual experience is the Tree of Life’s nightly awakening. With the setting of the sun, a new light is born from the darkness, as the park’s own iconic centerpiece tree blooms into life in a spectacle of colors and diverse animal projections. Flickering fireflies bring the scene to life, awakening the many different animal spirits from the tree’s carving in their own interactions and projections around the tree’s base. Tree of Life Awakenings take place when the sun sets and continue to replay every 10 minutes until the park’s closing for the day.
