As part of the lineup of entertainment that has slowly been returning to the Walt Disney World Resort following its reopening last year, Yehaa Bob Jackson is set to return with his fan-favorite live musical performances to River Roost at Port Orleans: Riverside tonight, October 14, 2021. Ahead of his opening night, the performer took to social media to share with fans some restrictions that he will be needing to follow due to COVID-19 precautions.
If you have seen Yehaa Bob Jackson perform in the past, then you know that lively sing-along numbers make up a large portion of his show (and are arguably one of the major reasons why fans keep coming back to see him year after year.) Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions, Jackson shared that he will not be able to perform sing-along songs and that even during non-sing-along numbers he will not be able to encourage any singing from members of the audience.
Additionally, Jackson will not be able to get up from his position on stage and move around the room to interact with Guests. In his statement, he mentions that the policy is due to COVID and mask requirements, so it may be interesting to see how masks are enforced during his performance if this is the case. Currently masks are required indoors at Walt Disney World, including at bars and restaurants but they may be removed while you are seated at your table. Jellyrolls at Disney’s Boardwalk is also opening soon, and we have not heard of the “no sing-along” restriction there, however it may be due to Jellyrolls being a third party business.
Read Jackson’s complete statement below:
“I am very grateful to be returning to the stage at Disney tonight but there are some big restrictions on what I can perform. I’ve been instructed not to perform any sing-along music, and not to encourage anyone to sing along. I’m not to get anyone up and moving around the room. These are restrictions due to Covid and masks. Hopefully, these restrictions are only temporary and will be lifted in the near future as we get through the pandemic.
Those of you at home can sing along, but those in the audience at the Port might be disappointed not to hear their old favorites from the show.
As you can imagine, I’ve been scrambling the last day and a half to write another show! Thanks to you and your many requests over the last 17 months, I have plenty of new material to pick from. You’ll still be able to hear your favorites every Sunday night at our weekly [virtual] sing-along show. Wish me luck tonight, I’m going to need it! We ain’t scared!!!”
We will keep you updated here on Disney Fanatic on Yehaa Bob Jackson and other performers as live entertainment continues to return to Walt Disney World.
