Disney Legend Jodi Benson has been vocal about her everlasting love for the Walt Disney Company ever since the actress and singer first voiced Ariel the little mermaid in the 1989 movie The Little Mermaid. The Disney Legend recently visited Walt Disney World Resort in order to film some promotional material for the new MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort’s Hollywood Studios (alongside Sebastian and Flounder), and if you want to meet the Disney Legend in person, you now have a chance!
The Disney Legend Jodi Benson might be best known by Disney fans for her role as Ariel the lovestruck little mermaid, or perhaps for her Enchanted cameo, but the actress has also just written a book. The book, “Part of My World”, is being published in September. In honor of the book’s publication and release, a Jodi Benson giveaway has actually been announced by the Disney Legend herself!
On Instagram, Jodi Benson shared that anyone who preorders her new book (which is a memoir focusing on Benson’s experiences playing Ariel and working with iconic individuals like Howard Ashman and Alan Menken) will be entered into a contest to win a trip to Walt Disney World Resort — and an afternoon with Jodi. Not only will the winner dine with Jodi over lunch (while Jodi shares “inside stories”), the duo will also ride on Walt Disney World Resort’s Little Mermaid attraction together.
Anyone who pre-orders Part of My World before the September 13 will also get a complimentary temporary copy of the “Part of My World” audiobook, which was recorded by Jodi! You can read the first chapter of the book here, as well as a fun behind-the-scenes story from Paige O’Hara (who voiced Belle and knows Jodi well)!

“Part of My World” is, according to Jodi’s description of the book, “what I’ve learned from The Little Mermaid about love, faith, and finding my voice.” The description of the book also includes the following: “join Disney Legend Jodi Benson on a magical journey from a Midwestern town to the bright lights of Broadway and the recording booth where she brought to life one of the most beloved Disney princesses of all time”!
