Who says your entire Disney vacation has to be pricey? Part of enjoying a Disney World vacation is making sure you have all of your travel essentials. Believe it or not, the dollar store has plenty of items that can assist you with the little tasks of managing your party at the parks. You’ll be able to shop guilt free and still have money in your wallet for other things at the parks. Here are 15 items you should buy from the dollar store that are great for Disney trips!

15. Glowing Necklaces/Bracelets

The night shows at Disney are amazing, but have you noticed the prices on the light up toys and souvenirs? The dollar store sells glowing necklaces and bracelets that are perfect for little ones to put on and feel part of the show. They usually have multiples in one pack with is great for stacking on the colors or replacing them when they are done glowing.

14. Hand Sanitizer & Baby Wipes

I am a sucker for hand sanitizer, especially while on vacation. You’ll realize just how many hand rails, rides, tables, and other commonly held items you will touch all throughout the day. It’s important to make sure your hands are germ free even when you can’t go wash them in the bathroom. Baby wipes are also a great way to keep clean and stay fresh. They can also be especially handy if you’re enjoying a snack on the go (like ice cream) and you want to clean up the mess without waiting to find a restroom. You’d be so surprised how many times a pack of wipes can come to the rescue!

13. Lip Balm

Chapped lips are extremely uncomfortable and the Florida sunshine will surely make yours chapped in no time without coverage. Stocking up on a few lip balms are a great way to keep your lips hydrated and soft in the heat.

12. Activities For Kids

Car and/or plane rides can be quite the drag when kids aren’t entertained. The dollar store is the perfect spot to snag a few coloring books, markers, puzzles, crosswords, and other items that will entertain the kiddos while you’re traveling. Best of all, there are a plethora of Disney styles to choose from to get them pumped for their visit!

11. Snack Containers & Ice Packs

Taking snacks to the parks can save you quite a few bucks and plenty of time on dining. You’d be surprised how much the snacks for your family can add up. There are some adorable (Disney) containers for snacks (like chips or gummies) that are perfect for little ones or adults to enjoy as you are waiting in line for a ride, saving your spot for a parade, or strolling around the park. You’ll save time too by not having to stop at each snack station. You can also purchase ice packs to keep these snacks cold in your bag! If you’re not a fan of bulky items in your bag, buy a box of Ziploc bags while you’re at the store! This is another inexpensive way of carrying snacks! Best of all, the baggies at the dollar store often have Disney designs on them too!

10. Snacks

Speaking of snack containers, there are plenty of great snacks at the dollar store too. I like to keep snacks in the hotel room so that I don’t spend extra money at night when snacking. Like I mentioned previously, taking snacks to the parks really saves a family a lot of money!

9. Water Bottles

Staying hydrated is key when hanging out in the Florida sunshine. One of the best ways to save money on H2O is to store several water bottles in the refrigerator of your room. You can take them with you to the parks, water parks, pool area, bike rides, etc. and not spend a fortune on water for your family. I usually take mine in my backpack as I’m traveling around the parks. The dollar store has packs of water that are great for trips like this.

8. Room Decorations

Celebrating a birthday or another occasion? If you really want to decorate your room, you can do so without spending tons of money with the floral department at Disney. The dollar store has a myriad of choices when it comes to party décor. If you can somehow decorate your room while the rest of your party steps out for a little bit, you’ll be able to surprise them with banners, balloons, confetti, and other party decorations. If you’re really lucky, you’ll be able to find some Disney themed decorations as well.

7. Cleaning Products

You probably already know that hotel rooms have been proven to have tons of germs, specifically on certain areas like the door handles, remotes, toilets, and phone. I personally always take a disinfectant spray to these areas just to make sure they’re squeaky clean. The dollar store has decent sized disinfectant spray that is perfect to disinfect those areas before the rest of your party gets to it.

6. Ponchos

Florida weather is really unpredictable. One second it’s nice and sunny, and one minute later it looks like a hurricane has taken over. Ponchos at Disney are $10 each! That’s quite a sting if you have to purchase them for your whole family. The dollar store has ponchos that will save you big time!

5. Pool Toys

Who doesn’t love a relaxing pool day at the happiest place on earth? While there is a lot of entertainment by the pool, having some toys for the kids is a great way to have some fun! The dollar store has plenty of pool toys (like noodles, floats, water guns, beach balls, etc.) to enjoy throughout your stay!

No one wants to pay a fortune for batteries at the parks. Grabbing a few packs of batteries will help maintain toys or electronics in working order on your trip. This can be extremely beneficial for flashlights too.

The dollar store has a plethora of hygiene supplies to stock up on for your trip. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, hairspray, brushes, etc. are just a few of the items you’ll find. This is a great way to travel and not spend a fortune on the toiletries.
