Disney Guest Asks Fans Why They “Need to Bring in Politics” at Disney World

One Disney Guest expressed frustration at fellow Park-goers who insisted on bringing politics into their Disney vacation at Walt Disney World.

The Walt Disney World Resort is known as the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” The Disney Resort and its Disney Parks offer Guests character meet ‘n’ greets, many a ride and attraction, and the opportunity to live out their most magical fantasies and dreams. Whether it’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, whichever Disney Park you choose, Disney World guarantees you’ll be able to live the Disney experience.

There have been instances reported, however, of the Disney magic being tampered with, whether because of decisions on the part of the Walt Disney Company, currently under the helm of CEO Bob Chapek, or the behavior of fellow Theme Park Guests.

In the latest of one such incident, a Disney Guest and Reddit user, u/r7RSeven, took to the social media platform to share frustration at an experience they had while visiting Walt Disney World.

The Guest said,

Really wish people would leave Politics at home

Was at Disneyworld last month and had a great time, but there was one incident of a fellow guest that made go “why?”

We were passing through the American Pavillion in Epcot when a family all together chanted “Let’s Go B…….” and clearly it wasn’t because they have a family member named Brandon they were cheering on. And this is in the American Pavilion in Epcot, not the Presidents of America attraction in Magic Kingdom. Why do you need to bring your politics into the magical place on Earth?

I dont care what your political leanings are (actually I do, but not if we’re all on vacation), Walt Disney World is NOT the place for them in any capacity

The post is incredibly popular on Reddit, and since its posting under 24 hours ago, it has gotten over 1.7K upvotes, and many fellow fans were essentially in agreement with the OP.

U/savison said, “I always read that behavior as “i would like to get into an argument in this themepark today.”

U/LogicalWasabi7402 agreed, “Some people have to make their political opinions their entire personality because they haven’t got anything else to keep a stranger’s attention.”

U/gleamydream chimed in,

It’s quite annoying, left politics/right politics/up politics/down politics – no one cares. We are all there to escape from our realities and enjoy ourselves.

Anytime I see somewhere wear a political shirt and shout political stuff it always really means “Hey Look at me! Pay attention to me! I need the center of the universe to revolve around me.”

Like many Guests noted, the Walt Disney World Resort is a place many Park-goers visit to leave the real world behind, and being disruptive to that experience is, in fact, against Disney World and Disney property policies and guidelines for behavior.

Included in those guidelines is: “Please show common courtesy to fellow Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior, jumping lines or saving places in lines for others.”

In the last year, the Walt Disney Company has also been in the news for some clashes with Florida governor Ron DeSantis, and the Reedy Creek improvement act, among more.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to report on all Disney news as it comes to light.
