Just over thirty years ago, The Walt Disney Company decided that it wanted to bring the magic of Disney theme parks to Europe. After some research, they decided that the perfect place for a Resort would be in the beautiful country of France. In 1992, Disneyland Park officially opened in Chessy, France, about 20 miles from Paris. Then, ten years later, Walt Disney Studios Park opened, expanding the Disneyland Paris Resort. As you may remember, when it first opened, the area was called EuroDisney. However, that name only lasted for two years before it was changed to Disneyland Paris.
While Disneyland Paris is never considered the most popular Disney Resort, Guests love visiting it. The Parks have also gotten more popular in recent years, and Disneyland Paris has seen record earnings.
Disney Imagineers are always thinking about ways to keep things fresh and new. And, this summer, Guests will see a ton of great rethemes taking over at both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.
