It's hard to believe that Disney once owned Power Rangers. It wasn't for very long—and it wasn't even during the franchise’s heyday in the early to mid '90s—but it was long enough to get many iterations of them into the Stars and Motor Cars Parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios (then MGM) in the early 2000s. Since then, the Power Rangers have been completely absent from the parks. But that could change in the coming years.
According to a report from TheWrap earlier this year, the franchise's current owner, American toy and entertainment giant Hasbro, is working with Disney on a new live-action Power Rangers series for Disney+. And if that show lands, it could open the door for the Rangers to return to Disney Parks in a much bigger way—this time as a permanent attraction. And they’d be a welcome addition for parkgoers and longtime fans alike.

Disney Parks Could Risk Becoming Stale
Right now, Disney Parks are anchored in the same IPs: Star Wars, Marvel, and all the other usual suspects such as Pixar and so on. It’s a formula that works, obviously, but it's one that’s starting slightly repetitive. Power Rangers wouldn’t just be something new—it would bring action, spectacle, and nostalgia to the table without overlapping with what's already there. Who needs The Lion King‘s Pride Rock when you have the Megazord?
Power Rangers may no longer have the same status as Marvel, but it still fits into the broader superhero genre. It also has decades of legacy, a massive toy market, and a distinct visual identity. And with so many expansions happening, whether it's at Disneyland Paris, Disneyland California, Disney World, or the upcoming Abu Dhabi resort, there's more than enough room for the Command Center and the Megazord.
So here's hoping that, some day soon, guests will be shouting “it's morphin time!” as they enter the parks.
