Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) might be making serious cash at the global box office, but money doesn’t equal fan approval.
The latest theatrical entry has split the fanbase, with many feeling alienated by its jarring tone, questionable character choices, and major retcons that dismiss key franchise lore. Online, the discourse is louder than a Tyrannosaur—and not in a good way.
But while the big screen stumbles, it’s the small screen that’s holding steady.

Animated Jurassic Still Has Fans' Respect
Netflix’s Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, the animated follow-up to Camp Cretaceous, has quietly earned a reputation as one of the best modern Jurassic entries.
Not only has it stuck close to the emotional character arcs and continuity that fans crave, but it’s managed to expand the story in a way that feels both respectful and exciting.
With Season 4 confirmed and dropping this November, the show is poised to outshine Rebirth entirely—especially as more viewers begin to tune in after the movie’s backlash.
Chaos Theory isn’t afraid to embrace what the films avoided. Season 3 interweaved itself into the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), rather than rewriting them like Rebirth does. As such, it continues to explore a world where dinosaurs live freely among humans.

Can Chaos Theory Fix What Rebirth Broke?
The question now is whether Chaos Theory—or even another follow-up series down the line—will eventually be tasked with addressing the continuity damage caused by Rebirth.
Can a show meant for younger audiences fix what a film broke? We'll just have to wait and see, but right now, Chaos Theory is where the heart of Jurassic lives for many fans.
With two other promising installments on the horizon in “Jurassic World Evolution 3” and “Jurassic Park: Survival”, there’s still plenty of hope for the future. But it may be an animated series—one small in scope and big in loyalty—that carries the franchise forward.
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on November 20.
