On Tuesday, August 26, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DisneyScoopGuy shared images of a new stage, decorated in bright, colorful banners and floral designs that match the Disneyland70 anniversary theme seen across both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The stage aligns with the celebratory “Celebrate Happy” aesthetic, echoing other decorations around Sleeping Beauty Castle and the resort.

There’s a Disneyland 70th anniversary stage set up in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle this morning!

While Disneyland Resort hasn’t provided official details on the structure, there’s a likely explanation. As part of World Princess Week, Disney Parks Blog announced that a Disney Princess-themed concert would be filmed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park and premiere on YouTube on August 29. The event will also celebrate Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary, making the new stage a likely location for the performance.

The concert will feature performances from beloved Disney Princess voices, including Jodi Benson of The Little Mermaid (1989), Paige O’Hara of Beauty and the Beast (1991), Anika Noni Rose of The Princess and the Frog (2009), and Auliʻi Cravalho of Moana (2016). Hosting duties will be handled by Ginnifer Goodwin, known for Zootopia (2016) and ABC’s Once Upon A Time, alongside Susan Egan, original Broadway cast member of “Beauty and the Beast” and star of Hercules (1997).

This concert is only the latest in a string of Disneyland70 entertainment offerings. Disneyland Park has introduced returning favorites and new experiences for the anniversary, such as the “Celebrate Happy Cavalcade,” Wondrous Journeys fireworks, the Paint the Night parade, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” and the Tapestry of Happiness projection show on “it’s a small world.” The Fantasyland attraction also debuted a new song verse written by the late Sherman brothers.

Disney California Adventure Park has joined in the celebrations, adding a Disneyland70-themed overlay to Toy Story Midway Mania!, hosting the interactive World of Color Happiness! show, and offering the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade. Guests can also enjoy a wide selection of themed merchandise, food, and beverages throughout both Southern California Disney parks.
