The runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend takes place alongside the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, making for a particularly active few days around World Showcase. These events arrive just as Spaceship Earth reopens after a brief maintenance closure, adding a welcome return for fans of EPCOT’s signature attraction.

On Saturday, October 25, EPCOT Center Drive will close between 4:15 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., while on Sunday, October 26, additional routes, including Floridian Way, World Drive South, and Buena Vista Drive, will close from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. EPCOT Center Drive will remain closed until approximately 9:00 a.m. as part of the marathon’s safety plan. These early-morning closures may delay guest transportation and park access, so visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly.

To support the marathon schedule, EPCOT will open later on Sunday, welcoming Resort guests at 9:30 a.m. and day guests at 10:00 a.m. After the races conclude, the park will transform for the Wine & Dine Post-Race Party, starting with ticketed admission at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 1 a.m., offering participants and visitors a chance to celebrate together.

Beyond the race festivities, the Food & Wine Festival continues to highlight global flavors, chef demonstrations, and live music as part of the Eat to the Beat concert series. Crowds are expected to be heavier throughout the weekend, making early dining reservations and strategic touring plans highly recommended.

Adding to the excitement, Spaceship Earth—fresh from a short refurbishment—officially reopens to guests on October 25. Though long-term updates to the attraction remain in discussion, its return ensures that guests can once again experience EPCOT’s iconic storytelling and design during one of the resort’s busiest weekends.

Guests should keep in mind the temporary travel changes and consider alternate transportation options such as the Disney Skyliner, monorail, or resort buses to make their visit smoother. Those wishing to avoid early-morning congestion might explore another park before heading to EPCOT later in the day.

Between the energy of the marathon, the tastes of the festival, and the return of a fan-favorite attraction, EPCOT is ready to deliver an unforgettable weekend of Disney experiences.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
