Fans Caught Off Guard as Disney Quietly Removes Classic Dishes

It wasn’t a big announcement. No fireworks, no fancy press release. But if you love eating your way through Walt Disney World, this week’s news matters. Eight Disney dining locations quietly swapped out menu items just as the resort braces for the upcoming holiday season.

A Big Bite Out of Animal Kingdom

The most dramatic changes happened at Animal Kingdom. Smiling Crocodile, known for its casual handheld bites, is saying goodbye to its chicken wings and pork sliders. In their place are Pulled Pork Cheese Arepas, Pulled Chicken Cheese Arepas, and a tropical drink called Island Sunrise.

Terra Treats ditched its pizza slices and churros, replacing them with Columbian-style Hot Dogs—including a plant-based option. Warung Outpost is all in on DOLE Whip, now offering several flavors, floats, and even a spiked version with rum. It’s a clear push toward fresher, more modern snack options.

Resorts Get a Refined Touch

The changes didn’t stop there. Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn made a small but meaningful menu shift, removing several dishes and adding a butter-poached lobster tail. It’s a signal that the restaurant is doubling down on its elegant, seafood-forward identity.

Crew’s Cup Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort went for a bold cocktail overhaul. Instead of the old Sunset Margarita, guests now have a menu packed with options like Whistle Pig Old Fashioned, Coconut Gimlet, and a Midnight Sail Espresso Martini. It’s the kind of update that can turn a casual stop into a full-on nightcap destination.

Disney Springs Plays Along Too

Three popular Disney Springs restaurants got their own tweaks. The BOATHOUSE swapped its grouper dish for a pan-seared version, Paddlefish added scallops and a citrusy avocado lime item, and eet by Maneet Chauhan introduced new flatbreads and kid-friendly eats.

Timing Is Everything

Disney didn’t pick this moment by accident. Late October and early November are prime time for quiet changes ahead of the holiday season. By the time crowds arrive for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights, these new dishes will be in full swing.

For guests, it means some familiar menu staples are gone, but it also means fresh options to try during one of the busiest (and most delicious) times of the year at the parks. Whether it’s a new cocktail, a fresh seafood dish, or a DOLE Whip float, these quiet updates are going to make an impact.
