Walt Disney World Resort eliminated a fixture from Disney Springs this month, without warning or explanation. An oversized photo opportunity that served as a popular backdrop for vacation pictures has been permanently erased from the shopping, dining, and entertainment district, leaving confused Disney Park guests staring at empty floor space.
Sudden Disappearance Catches Disney Springs Guests Off Guard

X (formerly known as Twitter) user @magiccitymayhem broke the news on January 13 that a heart hands statue had vanished from its longtime position at the Marketplace Co-Op store. The guest posted a photograph showing barren floor space where the “I Love Disney Springs” sculpture previously stood.
“This photo op has been removed and all the ropes and stands in front of the Drop Shop have been taken away. Feels like they want you to shop there now,” @magiccitymayhem wrote.

Walt Disney World Resort provided no advance notice about the removal. No signage explained the disappearance or indicated whether the sculpture might return.
The removal happened just weeks after Walt Disney World Resort also eliminated the D-Tech customization kiosk from Marketplace Co-Op, suggesting coordinated changes to the retail location rather than isolated maintenance.
History of Guest Misuse

The same social media user who reported the January 13 removal had previously documented guest abuse of the photo opportunity. In November 2025, @magiccitymayhem shared photographs showing a man sitting on the “I Love Disney Springs” sculpture, using it as a makeshift seat rather than a photo backdrop.
“Dear park people, don't sit on photo-ops,” the guest wrote, criticizing behavior that prevented other families from taking pictures with the installation.

When commenters suggested the man might be waiting for a shopping companion, @magiccitymayhem clarified that both guests were blocking pathways. The man's travel partner sat in a mobility scooter positioned nearby, obstructing the only clear walkway to the rest of Marketplace Co-Op.

“His travel companion was in a scooter to their right block half of the only path to get to the rest of the co-op due to the other side being a queue 😅,” they explained.

The November incident represented documented evidence of guests treating the sculpture as seating, but it likely wasn't an isolated occurrence. Photo opportunities throughout Walt Disney World Resort frequently suffer misuse as guests climb on installations, sit on structures not designed to bear weight, or monopolize backdrops for extended periods.
No Official Explanation From Disney

Walt Disney World Resort has maintained complete silence about why the “I Love Disney Springs” photo opportunity disappeared. The company issued no press release, social media statement, or official comment addressing the removal.
The lack of communication leaves guests speculating about whether the sculpture will return after refurbishment, be replaced with a different photo opportunity, or remain permanently eliminated from Disney Springs.
