Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park's entrance sign is being dismantled as the Central Florida Disney attraction prepares to reopen next month. Construction crews have stripped most of the iconic billboard-style display, leaving only scaffolding, traffic cones, and a digital message board informing Walt Disney World Resort guests about the ongoing closure.
Disney's Blizzard Beach Sign Stripped
WDWNT reported on Monday, January 26, that crews had removed substantial portions of the Disney's Blizzard Beach entrance sign. The text identifying the water park has been eliminated, leaving only a small arrow reading “THIS WAY.” Ice Gator—the park's mascot character—has disappeared from his signature position atop the sun in the upper left corner.

The ski slope background mural shows significant deterioration, with sections completely missing paint. Whether Walt Disney World Resort plans to repair the existing sign or replace it entirely remains unclear.
The digital portion continues functioning, cycling through messages: “BLIZZARD BEACH IS CLOSED,” “FOR REFURBISHMENT,” “SKI YA AT TYPHOON LAGOON,” and “Winter Summerland 10am – 10pm.”

February 15 Reopening Confirmed
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park returns to operation on February 15, 2026. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will close that same day for seasonal refurbishment, making Saturday, February 14, the final day to visit that facility before its maintenance closure.

Both water parks will operate simultaneously from May 26 through September 8, 2026. During that summer window, Disney Resort hotel guests receive complimentary water park admission on their check-in day.
Disney's Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 2025 for annual refurbishment, giving crews approximately five months to complete maintenance and upgrades before reopening.
