A new Jurassic sequel may already be in development. According to industry insider Daniel Richtman (@DanielRPK), Universal is reportedly preparing Jurassic World Rebirth 2, with a production start targeted for the fall and a release window set for July 2028.

While the studio has yet to confirm the project, the timeline suggests a rapid turnaround following Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Scarlett Johansson (Zora Bennett), Mahershala Ali (Duncan Kincaid), Jonathan Bailey (Dr. Henry Loomis), and Rupert Friend (Martin Krebs).
The film centered on a mission to retrieve dinosaur DNA from a remote island for use in a medical breakthrough, only for the team to encounter unstable mutant experiments.

Though Rebirth divided audiences and critics, it delivered at the box office, earning over $869 million worldwide and reinforcing the franchise’s continued commercial appeal.
Additional signs of a sequel have surfaced in recent months. The domain “jurassicworldliberation.com” was registered and redirects to the official Jurassic World website, while production tracking site Film Base referenced “the next Jurassic” as one of several major projects expected to begin filming in 2026.
Earlier reports also suggested that Gareth Edwards and the film’s core cast could return, though no deals have been officially announced.

As for where the story could go next, the franchise has steadily escalated its concepts—from the controlled park setting of Jurassic Park (1993) to global dinosaur coexistence in Jurassic World Dominion (2022), and most recently to genetic experimentation in Jurassic World Rebirth.
For now, Universal has not confirmed anything.
