“We Will Not Have Our Jobs Taken Away”: Actors Deliver Strong Message to Bob Iger

Actor Bryan Cranston delivered a message to Disney CEO Bob Iger during the SAG-AFTRA strike, which has struck a chord with many in the community.

Bob Iger has not had a fun week. From being criticized heavily for his comments about the current strike that’s making waves in Hollywood to the general barrage of criticism that the Walt Disney Company has been on the receiving end of for the past few months, he’s had his fair share of challenges to deal with as CEO.

Bob Iger Puts His Foot in His Mouth

When Disney CEO Bob Iger went on CNBC’s Squawk Box earlier this month, he made comments about the strike that many in the community didn’t take kindly to. Iger stated that the current strike would have detrimental effects on the industry, adding that the Guild’s demands were not “realistic” and the strike was “very disturbing” because studios are still trying to figure out how to return from COVID.

Actors and Celebrities Speak Out Against Bob Iger

Many actors have been speaking out against the Disney CEO, and the latest to join that crew is Bryan Cranston, most famous for his role in Breaking Bad.

Cranston’s rousing speech had many applauding,

“I know, sir, that you look [at] things through a different lens. We don’t expect you to understand who we are. But we ask you to hear us, and beyond that to listen to us when we tell you we will not be having our jobs taken away and given to robots. We will not have you take away our right to work and earn a decent living. And lastly, and most importantly, we will not allow you to take away our dignity! We are union through and through, all the way to the end!”

While many fans were for fighting the studios, some also brought challenged the present bashing of Bob Iger.

One fan shared, “My biggest issue is how nobody at all is addressing Zaslav or any other studio CEO. What Iger has said was beyond stupid and is worth addressing but this is a HOLLYWOOD strike. The other studios are just as bad as Disney. If they were any better they would’ve done something”

The Disney CEO has not responded to many of the criticisms he’s received, and for now, Disney is staying more silent than not.
