Guests walking into Magic Kingdom may notice construction has returned to the hub in front of Cinderella Castle, though this latest project is far smaller than the one that dominated the area for months.

According to WDWNT, Disney has started repainting and refurbishing the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage, the entertainment venue located directly in front of the park's iconic castle. The work comes shortly after Disney completed its sweeping restoration of Cinderella Castle, which introduced a refreshed exterior inspired by the landmark's earlier design.
The castle refurbishment required significant construction throughout the first half of the year. To access lower sections of the building, Disney drained the surrounding moat while crews used cranes, scaffolding, and aerial lifts to repaint nearly every visible portion of the structure, from the upper spires to the rockwork near the foundation.
As part of the makeover, Disney replaced the pink-heavy color palette introduced during Cinderella‘s 70th anniversary celebration in 2020 and retained during Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary festivities. In its place came softer gray stonework, cream-colored accents, bright blue rooftops, and renewed gold detailing. Disney previously explained that the updated colors were selected to better reflect the castle's original look while emphasizing its architectural design.

Although the repainting was largely complete weeks before, one feature remained absent from the landscape.
The castle moat stayed empty until early June, when Disney began refilling it with millions of gallons of water over several days. Once the process finished, the familiar reflections of Cinderella Castle returned, marking the conclusion of one of Magic Kingdom's largest recent refurbishment projects.
Now, attention has shifted to the stage positioned in front of the castle.
The current work appears focused on repainting and refreshing the Forecourt Stage rather than making any major alterations. Over the years, the venue has served as the setting for character entertainment, seasonal productions, and numerous live performances, making regular upkeep an expected part of its operation.

At this stage, there is no sign that Disney is changing the structure itself. Instead, the refurbishment appears intended to update the stage's appearance so it better complements the newly restored Cinderella Castle.
Guests should experience minimal disruption while the work continues. Central Plaza pathways remain accessible, and Cinderella Castle continues to anchor Magic Kingdom's entertainment lineup, including Happily Ever After, while remaining one of Walt Disney World's most popular photo locations.
With both the castle and its moat now restored, repainting the Forecourt Stage appears to be the final cosmetic update in Disney's effort to refresh the entire area surrounding Magic Kingdom's signature landmark.
