The Fourth of July celebrations may be over at EPCOT, but the American Adventure World Showcase Pavilion is dealing with an unwelcome post-holiday discovery. A construction permit filed on the same day the damage was photographed suggests Walt Disney World Resort is already moving to address it.
What Came Off With the Decorations

WDWNT reported on July 8 that Walt Disney World Resort had begun taking down the patriotic bunting and signage installed on the American Adventure Pavilion for the 250th anniversary Independence Day festivities. The decor removal revealed significant damage to the tall white columns at the front of the main building, home to the audio-animatronic American Adventure show and Voices of Liberty performances.
The damage traces directly to the brackets used to mount the Independence Day signage on the columns. At least one metal bracket broke during removal, leaving a hole anchored in the white column surface. Others remain embedded in the columns, not yet extracted. Adhesive lines streak the areas where signs made contact with the facade, and paint has visibly peeled away from the columns where decorations were pulled free.
A Permit Filed the Same Day

Hours after the damage was documented, Walt Disney World Resort filed a Notice of Commencement for “general construction” at 1776 Avenue of the Stars — the approximate address of the American Adventure World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT. The filing names Tecta America Corp./Tecta America SE as the third-party contractor for the project.
Tecta America identifies itself on its official website as “America's top commercial roofing contractors,” though the company's portfolio also extends to waterproofing solutions and architectural metals — capabilities that could apply directly to restoring damaged column surfaces and exterior facade elements.

Walt Disney World Resort has not publicly confirmed whether the construction permit is linked to the holiday damage, nor has the resort commented on the condition of the American Adventure Pavilion columns.
