ABC anchors are some of the most recognizable names in the news industry. Names like Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Diane Sawyer, and David Muir are loved for their incredible reporting and affable personalities. Unfortunately, in December 2022, Disney and ABC were forced to put two of its beloved anchors on leave when their affair made national headlines.

Amy Robach and TJ Holmes were co-anchors for the hit morning show, GMA3: What You Need to Know. Holmes had been married to his wife Marilee Fiebig since 2010 and Amy Robach had been married to her husband — actor Andrew Shue — also since 2010. After the affair news broke, Robach and Holmes confirmed their relationship, but said that they were both separated from their spouses before they started dating.

A little more than one month after their affair became public, ABC News fired both anchors. Robach was reportedly paid a lot more than Holmes, since she was allegedly going to write a book about her experience. It was said that ABC gave Robach a massive payout so she would shelve the book.
However, it looks like we may learn a little bit about what happened behind the scenes after news of their scandalous affair broke.

On November 1, it was reported that Holmes and Robach were going to host a new podcast with iHeartPodcasts, called Amy & TJ. We didn’t learn much about what the podcast would be about when it was announced, but now, we are learning that some juicy details may come to light.
On November 28, the couple — who are still together and going strong — shared an Instagram post, saying that they “will be serving the tea.”

For months after they were fired, both Robach and Holmes remained silent on their relationship. In fact, even though they were spotted out and about together in New York City, neither one said anything until almost one year after their headline-making affair. They both broke their social media silence in September 2023, when they shared identical Instagram posts about running the New York City Marathon.

Not long after Robach and Holmes were let go from their anchor positions on GMA3: What You Need to Know, rumors started swirling that the two were planning to get married. However, there seems to be nothing to those rumors, at least for the time being. They are still happily dating, but no announcement has been made about an engagement or potential wedding.

GMA3: What You Need to Know is still airing daily on ABC and going strong. After Holmes and Robach were let go, Eva Pilgrim, DeMarco Morgan, and Rhiannon Ally took over co-anchor positions. The show is now hosted solely by DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim.
