Hot Topic and Her Universe Have Released Disney Princess Capes for Belle Fans

If you like the Disney princess aesthetic and would love to wear a cape that makes you feel like a Disney princess on a Disney adventure, and if you consider yourself to be one of the Beauty and the Beast winter girls who loves the winter scenes in the Disney animated movie, then you’re in luck! Hot Topic has partnered with Her Universe to launch an exclusive Disney Beauty and the Beast collection that honors the 1991 film’s 30th anniversary, and there’s a Her Universe hooded cape from the Disney Beauty and the Beast fashion collection that is a perfect way to show off your Disney style. Both the new Her Universe cape and the Hot Topic cape (which is not new) are very similar to the red cape that Belle (played by Emma Watson) wore in the 2017 live-action version of the Disney film, which can be seen in the image above!

The Belle-inspired cape from Hot Topic is long enough to be dramatic, but it’s also lightweight and comfortable enough to become an unexpected staple in your closet. The product description reads as follows: “Should you choose to go exploring dark castles, you should make sure you’re covered up and warm! This burgundy cape is inspired by the heroine of Beauty and the Beast and will bring out your inner fearlessness”.

Hot Topic partnered with Her Universe, a fashion and lifestyle brand, to expand the Beauty and the Beast collection that previously included this cape. Apparently “the hooded cape [also] has three covered buttons at the neck and an embroidered hem featuring roses, Cogsworth, Lumiere and Mrs. Potts”. Disney princess fans and Beauty and the Beast fans will appreciate those extra details, especially the embroidered enchanted rose detailing!

In addition to the Hot Topic cape, which is not brand-new, there’s also a new cape from Her Universe that looks even more wintry. This cape is available on the Her Universe site, not Hot Topic’s site, and its product description reads as follows: “The castle grounds can get chilly during winter, so make sure you stay cozy with this cape! Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast by channeling Belle with this red velvet hooded cape. Comes with gold embroidery details of the encased rose across the chest, faux fur hood and a rose-shaped button closure to top it off.”

Disney Princess Style shared the Her Universe Disney princess cloak on Instagram with the following caption: “Walk in a winter wonderland with a cape inspired by one of our favorite enchanting heroines.” The red princess cape that Emma Watson wore when she played Belle was already particularly unique, because (as part of Emma’s famous efforts to increase awareness about the wastefulness of the fashion industry) that cape was actually “made from upcycled, traditionally woven British Jacob’s wool from around 1970, bought at a vintage fair”. Although the Hot Topic cape and the Her Universe hooded cape are not artisanal or locally made, they could be good substitutes for any Belle fans who admired Emma Watson’s cape in the Disney movie!

Hot Topic is known for its themed merchandise (particularly for themes like Star Wars) and collectibles like action figures, but many Disney fans also tend to overlook it in favor of an online Disney store like shopDisney. With an exclusive Disney collection like this Disney Beauty and the Beast fashion collection, however, many Disney fans might choose to peruse Hot Topic or explore Her Universe!

There’s also a Beauty and the Beast Belle dress, Beauty and the Beast rose leggings, and a rose collared girls’ top in the collection on the Hot Topic website. While it might not always feel easy to pull off a hooded cape, this Hot Topic cape or Her Universe cape could be perfect for a walk on a cold winter’s day or a retro ball! It could also be great for a Halloween costume.

Would you wear either Beauty and the Beast Belle cape to feel like a Disney princess? And if you’d prefer something that shows off your Disney princess style in a more subtle way than a hooded Beauty and the Beast Belle cape, why not try this Disney-princess-inspired athleisure?
