Fans Love Blizzard Beach at Disney World

Blizzard Beach is one of the two water parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and it’s a unique and popular destination for guests looking to cool off and have fun in the sun.

What sets Blizzard Beach apart is its fascinating backstory – it’s designed as a ski resort that melted into a water park after an unexpected snowstorm, giving it a whimsical and playful theme. This thematic immersion is part of what makes it so appealing to Disney visitors.

Blizzard Beach Attractions

One of the major draws of Blizzard Beach is its iconic water attractions. Summit Plummet, for instance, is one of the tallest and fastest freefall body slides in the world, providing an exhilarating thrill for adventure seekers.

The park also features a wave pool with a calm beach-like atmosphere, allowing guests to relax and soak up the sun. For families, there’s the Teamboat Springs, one of the world’s longest family raft rides, offering a shared experience that’s perfect for all ages.

The park’s creative theming, a mix of snow and water elements, transforms visitors into a winter wonderland despite the Florida heat. It’s a refreshing change. Fans welcome its return every winter season.

Blizzard Beach Reopening and Season Pass

Walt Disney World has announced that its Blizzard Beach water park will reopen on November 6, 2023. It will also come with some new experiences to entice guests to visit.

The theme park is offering a new Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass for the first time. For a one-time fee of $79 plus tax, visitors can head to Blizzard Beach as often as they like from purchase until May 24, 2024. Furthermore, this pass has no block-out dates or reservations required to attend the water park.

Typhoon Lagoon, Disney World’s second water park, will likely go down for refurbishment at some point during the season. This means Blizzard Beach will be the main option for the current Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass.

New Food and Experiences

Furthermore, Blizzard Beach will introduce new items to its food and beverage offerings. Two new desserts, S’mores Churros, and Banana Split Churros, will be available at the Artic Expeditions quick service location.

There are also new Honey Siracha or Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings at the Warming Hut. These items are also available at Lottawatta Lodge, Polar Pub, and Frostbite Freddy’s.

In addition to all the famous rides, Disney has also added Frozen-themed features to Tike’s Peak. Small Children can hang out with Olaf and the Snowgies while partaking in other Frozen fun!
