High-speed rail company Brightline has been the talk of the town and is one of the most exciting additions to come to Orlando. The station has been open to the public at Orlando International Airport (MCO) for a while now, and the “Brightline Orlando Station offers a new connection between Orlando’s world-famous attractions, thousands of flights, and top destinations in South Florida.”

We at Disney Fanatic have reported extensively on Brightline’s progress in Orlando, and now we have another one!

Brightline Ticket Sales Start

Last week we announced that tickets would go on sale soon, and the service took another step toward the rollout with ticket sales beginning for select dates on Wednesday morning. Sales for tickets for travel in September have officially gone on sale. The tickets are for a 170-mile extension between West Palm Beach and Central Florida.

Per a statement released by the company on Tuesday, the earliest on-the-record travel date is now Labor Day, September 4. Tickets for summer 2023 trips out of Orlando will be released later.

The service will offer 16 daily round trips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando.

“Brightline guests and the travel market have spoken loudly, and we want to respond by opening ticket sales from late summer through the beginning of next year,” Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline, said in Tuesday’s statement. He added, “While we are finalizing an official launch date, guests can now book travel for Labor Day, Halloween and holidays through the new year.”

Brightline Ticket Prices

While this is all incredibly exciting for passengers, the inaugural ride date for trains operating along the new route which runs along the Florida East Coast Railway to Cocoa, then hooks on the newly constructed rail bed to a station at Orlando International Airport, has not been announced.

This segment is where Brightline trains testing reached 130 mph in March; up until that point, their highest speed was 79 mph.

“Once we have an opening date, we will make that announcement as well, and then guests can book for the inaugural ride,” said director of media relations Vanessa Alfonso to Orlando Sentinel.
