In 2022, BTS announced each of the members would be pursuing their solo efforts and albums as each of them had to fulfill their military enlistment commitments as all Korean men have to honor. In South Korea, military service is mandatory for all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28. This policy was put in place to ensure the country’s national security and is seen as a civic duty.

In that time, the members have all announced their solo endeavors. Artists j-hope, Jimin, and RM all released solo albums. Jungkook performed an official FIFA soundtrack, “Dreamers,” and BTS member SUGA announced a world tour that sold out globally in less than 24 hours. Recently, member SUGA also announced another album, “D-Day,” that would be released on April 21, and along with that he will also have his own Disney documentary.

The upcoming documentary will “follow SUGA as he travels around the world from Seoul to Tokyo, Las Vegas, [San Francisco] and beyond in search of musical inspiration for his upcoming album D-DAY.”

BTS star SUGA, who also goes by another stage name, Agust D, isn’t the first member of the band to get his own Disney Plus (stylized as Disney+) documentary. His fellow bandmate j-hope also had his own Disney+ documentary, which was released in February of this year. Per IMDb, it’s a “documentary that captures the album production process of j-hope’s first official solo album.” It follows the daily life of j-hope from the production of his solo album “Jack in the Box” through to his debut on the “Lollapalooza” stage in Chicago in 2022.

BTS SUGA’s documentary releases on the same day as his album, April 21 of this year.
