Super Bowl Crowds Cause Long Waits at Disneyland
In a recent Reddit post, one Disney guest shared that crowds at the Disneyland Resort were so extreme over the weekend that it took one and a half hours simply to get on the bus. The guest also shared a photo of the crowds with this post, as can be seen below.
As one fellow Disney guest explained in the comments, “I can see a lot of people are still thinking the parks are less crowded because of the Super Bowl. Spoiler Alert: It’s actually always more crowded than usual.”
Another guest also explained that Super Bowl Sunday is usually the busiest day of the year (if not one of the busiest). They wrote, “Usually it is nearly the busiest day of the year. Not sure how the reservation system changes that but I could see the profile of arrivals being skewed more to the morning for all the local L.A. and Orange County folks.”
Reportedly, back in 2005 and 2006 the Disney Park was less crowded on this day; however, in an attempt to draw more crowds to the theme park, Disney released a radio commercial encouraging people to visit the parks on Super Bowl Sunday.
Certainly, since then, any Disney fan will attest to the heightened crowds at Disneyland on Super Bowl Sunday.

One fan even mentioned how they “keep accidentally reserving Super Bowl Sunday and left around 130-2 due to crowds. I’m setting a reminder for next year to pick a better weekend haha.”
