There’s a good possibility that February might be too crowded a month for an enjoyable Disney World vacation; here’s why.

Going to the Disney Parks is always an experience to write home about. Especially when it comes to the Central Florida Disney Resort, its four Disney theme parks and two water parks offer a lot to guests who want to enjoy the Disney experience.

But next month, Disney World might end up seeing a sharp spike in crowds, because of which it might just be better to stay away from any Central Florida Disney Park.

February Jam-Packed With Disney World Events

Now that January 9 has officially happened, the parks are forever changed (again) and have reverted to a more preferable mode of operation. Starting January 9, the parks no longer restrict park hopping. Guests can once again enjoy all-day park hopping.

In addition, the theme park reservation is sort of coming to an end, and the Disney Dining Plan has returned. So there’s certainly a lot to celebrate.

However, at the same time, with these restrictions lifted, there are also some fan-favorite events coming up that have caused some to anticipate too sharp a spike in Walt Disney World crowds.

Here’s what Inside the Magic had to say about why February might not be the best month to visit Disney World this year.

Spring Break

Spring break is generally associated most strongly with the month of March. However, as some might remember, the time actually begins in some states (and countries) in February. As the website SpringBreak.com explains, “Spring Break will begin as early as February 13th for Canadian colleges and it works [its] way south over the next two weeks to colleges in Illinois, [Indiana], and Michigan.”

Families have mentioned before that Spring Break can be a rough time at the parks.

NFL Pro Bowl Games

Inside the Magic also accounts for the crowd that the NFL Pro Bowl Games might bring, also making their presence felt this February. The games are not being held at Disney World; however, the added tourism in Orlando could impact the crowds at the Central Florida Disney Park.

Mardi Gras 2024

While Universal is more known for its Mardi Gras celebration, similar to the NFL Pro Bowl Games, the crowds that the celebration draws might also make their presence felt at Disney World. Mardi Gras is on Tuesday, February 13, this year.

Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Finally, the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. The event will take place between February 22 – 26, 2024, overlapping with the Spring Break crowd as well. It simply increases the likelihood of seeing a more crowded Disney World.

EPCOT International Festival of Arts

Additionally, let’s keep in mind that the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is currently welcoming guests. EPCOT’s celebration of “the Creation of Art and Cuisine” will be available to guests through February 19, 2024.

Ultimately, Disney World is always fun to frequent no matter when you choose to go, but this is just a little heads up about what you might find during your visit if you choose to go in February.

  1. I’ll be visiting February 25-29. I’m hoping that because that week there are no events and Epcot festivals are might getting lucky with some lower crowds.
