Who doesn’t love a trip to The Walt Disney World Resort? But also, who actually loves paying the cost of a trip to The Walt Disney World Resort?
The combination of Theme Park Ticket price hikes, and the addition of new extra-cost elements like Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Access, seems to be having more people than ever asking the fundamental question, “when is the cheapest time to visit Disney World in 2023?” Well, we just might have found the answer for you!
Unlike previous years, Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets are one price regardless of whichever Theme Park you choose to visit. So, it makes more sense to add the Park Hopper Option, which gives you access to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom all in one day, even with the current restrictions. But the Theme Park Ticket price fluctuates throughout the year, depending on the season and crowd expectancy, revealing objectively cheaper days, weeks, and overall months to visit the Most Magical Place On Earth.
Overall, it seems that the most affordable time to visit The Walt Disney World Resort in 2023 is the week of August 20 and Mid-September. But there are a few different ways we can measure the least expensive time of the year, so let’s go through each.
According to the Disney World Website, the lowest cost for a single-day Walt Disney World Theme Park Ticket before taxes and the addition of the Park Hopper Option is $109. The month of September has 13 days where Theme Park Ticket Prices are at their lowest. August comes in second place, offering seven days at this price.
But we can’t experience all of The Walt Disney World Resort in one day, right? We are going to want at least a few days. So let’s look at a multi-day Theme Park Ticket valid for three, four, and five days.
For non-Florida Residents, 3-day and 4-day Theme Park Tickets start at a divided cost of $114 per day, and the 5-day Theme Park Tickets start at $99 per day. The cheapest start date to visit Disney World with a 4-day Theme Park Ticket is Sunday, August 20. In fact, it is the only start date on the 2023 calendar that offers would-be Guests the chance to purchase a 4-day Theme Park Ticket at the lowest rate. As for 3-day Theme Parks Tickets, the cheapest day of the year–and the only day of the year to offer the lowest rate per day–is Monday, August 21. 5-day Theme Park Tickets can be started on Tuesday, August 22, Wednesday, August 23, and Thursday, August 24, to receive its lowest cost per day. But, again, these are the only dates on the 2023 Calendar where Disney World is offering its 5-day Theme Park Ticket.
Even though the least expensive options for these tickets are in the third full week of August, September appears to be the overall lowest-cost month. It may not offer the absolute cheapest, but most days are just a few dollars per day more, and the overall cost per day average is significantly less than any other month of the year, arguably offering the most flexibility for travelers.
As for Florida Residents, only 1-day, 3-day, and 4-day tickets are available for a special discount. The Florida Resident 1-day Theme Park Ticket price results are the same as those for non-Florida Residents. As for the 3-day Theme Park Ticket, the least expensive option is available starting Monday, August 21, and Tuesday, August 22. As for the Florida Resident 4-day Theme Park Ticket, the lowest price is available from Saturday, August 19, through Friday, August 25. But, again, it appears that the month of September has the lowest average price for all three versions, with several days just one or two dollars per day more than the base price.
The lower prices clearly reflected the crowd turnout in 2022. We at Disney Fanatic reported that crowd levels and wait times hit their lowest levels, with even the most popular Theme Parks presenting a monthly average of less than one hour. Click the link below to read more about this story.
Of course, it makes sense that crowds fade away in late August and Mid-September, the kids are back in school, and adults go back to work to pay off Summer vacations and prep for Halloween and the Holiday Season that will be just around the corner. But if you have the flexibility and you want to get the most magic for your money, these are the days to do it.
These dates will also most likely be combined with some Disney Resort Hotel Discounts as well, and we at Disney Fanatic will be sure to update our readers on whatever those deals are as soon as they are released later this year. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to The Walt Disney Travel Company or your Disney-Authorized Vacation Planner for the most up-to-date information regarding your future trip. Remember that regardless of price, or time of year, Theme Park Guests will still need to secure a Theme Park Reservation before visiting any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, and please keep in mind that the Theme Park Ticket prices mentioned here are before the addition of the Park Hopper Option.
As always, we will continue to update our readers on Disney Parks news and stories as more developments come to light.
