World Princess Week is back as part of Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration this August, and once again, the singer and actress who played the Disney princess Cinderella is kicking off the special princess week with a performance! Brandy has returned to Disneyland Resort to sing at Sleeping Beauty Castle!

Brandy played Cinderella in the 1997 television movie Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which also starred Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, Victor Garber as King Maximillian, and Bernadette Peters as the Wicked Stepmother.

Even though this version of Cinderella was not as well-known as the 1950 animated movie, and the 1997 television movie seems to have been overshadowed since Lily James took over the role of Cinderella a few years ago, Brandy’s performance as Cinderella and her Disney princess movie has become a cult favorite.

Brandy is not just an actress who played one of the original Disney princesses; she is also a Grammy Award-winning singer, so naturally, the performer chose to sing a song as part of the World Princess Week celebration! Last year, Brandy sang the new Disney princess-inspired song “Starting Now.”

Brandy played Cinderella, but the official Disney princess has also been played by Lily James and Camila Cabello.

Since this song is considered to be the anthem for the Ultimate Princess Celebration and is chock-full of references to other famous Disney princess songs, it stands to reason that Brandy is performing the same song again in 2022! This performance has already happened, but footage of Brandy singing “Starting Now” this year will be available online on August 22.
