What Should Never Be Replaced at Disney?

Walt Disney is no stranger to changing out theming over time. Almost every single park has undergone some sort of refurbishment or reimagining over the years.

Certain locations, such as Animal Kingdom, have mostly just grown since their debut. The beauty of the Walt Disney World Resort is that there is plenty of space to add new locations without disrupting old ones. Disneyland in California, however, has much less space to work around and often must-readapt areas.

Major changes to iconic locations are usually noticed right away by anyone in the park. A guest cannot avoid observing Splash Mountain being closed or that MGM Studios has been renamed Hollywood Studios.

It takes a keen eye, however, to notice the most obscure changes that no theme park is going to announce to the world. These soft refurbishments are only perceived by the most clever Disney fan. The perfect example of this is when the iconic lamp in Walt Disney’s window above the Disneyland Fire Department suddenly changed after many years.

Most fans have agreed that Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride at Disneyland should forever be safe from being removed from the park. Other noteworthy rides include the “it’s a small world” attraction and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Outside of the rides, some guests believe the classic train tracks around Disneyland should never be removed. While they have been altered over the years, the train has survived and will likely continue to thrive. One fan really would be upset if Churros disappeared from the parks.
