The early 200os were a great time to be a fan of the Disney Channel, with a ton of hits making their mark in the lives of children around the world. The early 200os were full of hit shows like Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, Kim Possible, Even Stevens, The Proud Family, and more. Many of those Disney Channel stars have gone on to have very successful acting and singing careers. While the Disney Channel is still very popular, it doesn’t seem to have the same pizzazz that it did in the early 2000s.
One of the more successful Disney Channel shows during that time was The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The show starred twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse as brothers, Zack and Cody Martin, who lived with their mother in a fancy hotel where she worked. The show also starred High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale as Maddie Fitzpatrick, Kim Rhodes as Carey Martin, and Amphibia actress Brenda Song as London Tipton.
After The Suite Life of Zack and Cody ended in 2008, Disney began airing a spinoff called The Suite Life on Deck, where the twins and London Tipton (Brenda Song) enroll in a semester-at-sea program. The show, like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, ran for three seasons. Since the show ended in 2011, both Cole and Dylan Sprouse have had successful acting careers, although they both took five-year breaks from Hollywood as they attended the prestigious New York University.
Cole Sprouse is now known for his role as Jughead Jones in the hit show Riverdale, and Dylan has recently appeared in the popular film franchise After, which also stars Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin.
Recently, Cole gave an interview on the podcast Call Her Daddy, where he revealed that both he and his brother were not nice kids when they were in school. He also admitted that his brother Dylan, in particular, was a bully who beat up kids he did not like.
Per The Independent, who transcribed the podcast:
“Dylan specifically was a huge bully,” Cole said.
Asked how Dylan would bully people, Cole answered: “He would beat them up! And then I became known as the twin that would come up and be like ‘I’m so sorry for my brother.’”
Cooper pointed out that their relationship sounded similar to that of their characters in Zack & Cody, which Cole confirmed. “I think the writers on Zack & Cody took a lot of cues from our actual personalities,” he said.
Asked if Dylan would be annoyed with his brother revealing this information about his childhood, Cole responded: “Oh no, everyone knows that he was a bully.”
In the past, Dylan has admitted that he was not a nice person when he was a child. He has also called himself a bully. Dylan has said that he was going through a tough time when he was younger and brought his home problems to school with him, where he took them out on other kids. Dylan said that he has since worked on his issues and is a much different and better person than he was back then.
