A father and daughter were observed on camera shoplifting $1400 worth of items from Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs; they were detained and then sent to Orange County jail.
While Disney World is undoubtedly the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” there are times when things go awry at the Disney Park. The magic is created by the work of Disney Imagineers from Walt Disney Imagineering, and cast members, yes, but it’s maintained by guests. And many times, guests simply miss the memo.

Father-Daughter Caught Shoplifting at Disney Springs
Recently, Daily Mail released a video that explained a father and daughter were caught stealing over at Disney Springs—the shopping and dining district at Disney World.
In the video, the outlet we see Disney security coming up to the father and explaining that he was observed shoplifting over $1400—specifically, $1496—worth of sunglasses from Oakley, a store in Disney Springs, and as a consequence, is going to be detained. Unfortunately, the daughter was observed doing the same.
The video then also shows Orange County Sheriff deputies talking to the mother, explaining the situation to her and letting her know that since she was not caught on camera, they would be letting her go. However, her husband and child would be taken to Orange County jail.
Easiest Way to Work Yourself Into a Trespass from Walt Disney World
Not only this, the father and daughter were also trespassed from Walt Disney World, as the mother was made to understand in the video.
As any Disney Fanatic is already well aware, this kind of behavior is one of the easiest ways to work yourself into never being allowed to visit the Central Florida Disney Resort.

It should go without saying that this type of behavior is absolutely unacceptable at Disney World. Keeping the Disney magic alive and kicking is as much guests’ responsibility as it is on the Walt Disney Company and its cast members.
Of course, it’s important to note that Disney has tight security in place as well, and guests will inevitably face the consequences for their actions like this duo did.

Too many thief ruin it for everyone. Stealing is stealing if you can’t pay don’t go in a store. Om glad security got them.
Do not go past GO, go straight to jail. Who cares if you are a first grade teacher, you know better. Mom was probably in on it too, she just didn’t get caught. Didn’t look surprised at all! Cost of stealing is passed on the the rest of us consumers who legitimately pay for things.
