There’s nothing quite as special as the day your baby sister gets to marry the man of her dreams.

A real-life fairytale with an elegant white dress, heartfelt speeches, and magical memories is something anyone can appreciate—especially someone with an affinity for the Most Magical Place on Earth. Made up of stories featuring enchanting princesses, triumphant characters, and a host of Cast Members committed to the magic, Disney World is a hub for memory-making on a once-in-a-lifetime scale.

Because of the animated characters Disney features in its films, series, and Parks, it’s often pegged as a place just for kids. But true Disney fans know the Parks are designed to appease adults—they’re the ones footing the bill, after all. Still, adults who express their love for Disney have been lumped into one criticized category: Disney Adults.

For one Disney Adult on the people forum’s site, Reddit, the idea of her little sister’s dream wedding and her love for Disney converged into one big nightmare.

No Good Disney Deed

A self-proclaimed Disney Adult, u/thatdisney, sourced opinions outside the Disney bubble in the popular subreddit, r/AITA (short for “Am I the A**hole?), about her sister’s wedding demands. Letting the internet in on her and her husband’s sentimental connection to Walt Disney World as former college employees who met there, she shared her story in the following post:

AITA for not removing the Disney items from my house?

Reassuring readers they’re “careful not to be those Disney Adults” and “nurture all hobbies and interests” for their children, the post took a turn here:

Now my sister (28F) wants to get married on our property and we were all for it. Everything’s been planned for months and the wedding is in June. It’s set to be outside completely but if it rains, we can move the party into the barn. The only reason a guest would have to go in our house is to use the bathroom. We have 2 on the first floor. The only Disney items are Winnie the Pooh hand towels. I told my sister I’d replace them with regular ones. Wedding space has no Disney items.

However, she wants me to take down everything Disney on the first floor of my home, as guests will see. We have a lot of Disney items, pictures, paintings, blankets, funko pops, decorations, figurines, dishware, etc, all made for adults and a lot of it subtle or vintage, but you can still tell it’s Disney.

With her sister claiming the Disney decor is “tacky” and “doesn’t want her guests to remember” it, the original poster scrambled to work out how to pack, move, and store her Disney memorabilia. Although her property is being used for free, her sister stood firm, and the poster’s parents apparently agree:

When my husband and I stood firm, she whined to our parents who told us to grow up and take it down.

An Official NTA Rating

Redditors flooded the post to share their opinions, including this one by u/Forever_Excellent:

NTA, tell her to rent portable bathrooms. Problem solved. No reason for anyone to go in the house.

Another commenter , u/I_need_cheesecake, shared the sentiment about separate facilities and had choice words for the bride:

NTA. Tell your sister she can go ahead and pick another venue. Your parents are assholes for siding with a brat.

With a take on the Disney Adult angle, u/lonedroan suggested Disney’s presence at the venue was the least of the bride’s problems:

Absolutely NTA. Even if you were those Disney adults, you’re letting her use your property when you are under no obligation to do so. Perfectly fine to say certain things will be “as is.” That the amount of Disney items isn’t outlandish is icing on the cake.

Nearly 4,000 comments poured in favor of the Disney details staying put—especially with them being subtle accents in the home. With the wedding being outdoors, the guests would likely spend a limited time anywhere near the Disney Adult implications.

While we’ll never know if the Redditor’s house rid itself of Winnie the Pooh hand towels, thousands of strangers on the internet favor the poster living her best Disney life.
