To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.

When Walt Disney said those words at the opening of the Disneyland Resort, he probably didn’t anticipate the division that would come with the opening of his theme park. But over the years, these divisions have seemingly grown larger in the Disney Community.

All of this came to a head recently over a simple BuzzFeed quiz over Disney World hot takes. The comment section quickly devolved into a fight between Disney adults and people who go to Walt Disney World with children. And the fight started over strollers, of all things.

It wasn’t so much that Disney adults were against using strollers, but that people at Disney World with strollers take over the walkways and areas outside of the rides. And there are kids who are much too old riding in those strollers.

One person said:

They just have absolutely no courtesy whatsoever while moving through the park. I had a woman run over the back of my ankle 4 times in a 30 second period and when i turned around like “wtf?” she basically was like WELL I HAVE A KID WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?

But adults who go to Disney World with kids were quick to defend using a stroller in the parks. They are an integral part of traveling to Disney World, especially with young children. A stroller is much easier than carrying them, giving the kids a place to nap after a long day at a Disney Park.

Another commenter said:

Tickets also weren’t nearly as expensive as they are now, so parents don’t feel the need to spend more time at the park, pushing kids past their physical limits, to get their money’s worth. For reference, when Disney World opened in 1971, their ticket price was $3.50 for adults, $1 for children, or about $26 and $7.50 in 2024 dollars, respectively. Today, there’s a complicated algorithm based on how many days you go, what parks you go to, when you go, etc.

The debate quickly devolved with one person saying that Dinsey adults make him “cringe hard” and another calling people with kids “stroller Nazis.” Like all online debates, there was no compromise or middle ground. People were free to call each other names behind the anonymity of the internet.

Like Walt Disney said, “all are welcome,” and let’s try to keep it the Happiest Place on Earth. Disney adults can tone it down, and people with children promise not to bring a baby stroller the size of a station wagon.
