Disney Park rides or roller coasters have been closing left and right — some temporarily for refurbishments or renovations, others more permanently — and now Disney Guests visiting the hot Walt Disney World Resort locations in Florida will be missing out on yet another crucial aspect of Disney vacations: pools!
Apparently, many of the pools at the Disney Resort called Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be closed during what remains of this year and part of 2023 (and so will a popular poolside bar). Fortunately, these pool closures are not beginning while the hot Florida summer is still in full swing — although if it’s a particularly hot autumn day in Florida, Guests may still be wanting some swims!

If you are a Disney Guest enjoying the pools at Saratoga Spring’s Resort & Spa, you have until October 3 to soak up as much of the refreshing goodness as you can from certain luxurious pools — and you have until January to enjoy as many refreshing libations as you can from the poolside establishment called the On the Rocks Pool Bar.

Two of the pools that will be closed as of October 3 (and closed until at least partway through December) are the Congress Park pool and the Treehouse Villa pools. In 2023, another pool (the High Rock Spring Pool) will close. This pool and the On the Rocks Pool Bar’s closure will be in effect starting in early January, and both establishments will be off limits until at least the end of March.
Several Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa pools are closing for refurbishment in 2022 and 2023. The Congress Park leisure pool and the Treehouse Villa pools will be closed soon for several weeks, as will the On the Rocks Pool Bar and the High Rock Spring Pool.
Disney has been announcing many closures (temporary or otherwise) lately, with some roller coasters being closed for renovations without any reopening date announcements in sight. If the On the Rocks Pool Bar does not reopen, then you may want to try enjoying The Paddock Grill (which is a Paddock Pool bar as well) or the Backstretch Pool Bar on your next Saratoga Springs visit as an alternative!
