Disneyland Resort has made changes to its entry policy as part of an ongoing project to improve guest experience and streamline park access. Last year, the resort began shifting construction walls at the entrances to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park as they work on the all-new entrance system. The phased construction marks a significant milestone in the resort’s efforts to introduce “tapstiles,” allowing guests to enter using MagicBand+ and digital theme park tickets.
In December, Disneyland Park welcomed its first guests through the new “tapstiles.” Since then, crews have been installing construction walls in phases at various entrances to both parks. This approach allows Disneyland Resort to avoid overwhelming guests by funneling them through just one or two turnstiles, with the work being completed one section at a time to minimize disruption.
In our last update, Disney Fanatic reported that while the Disneyland Park entrance appeared nearly halfway finished, Disney California Adventure Park was still slightly behind. The new entrances featured functioning “tapstiles” and informative signage mounted on the roofs. At the same time, construction walls were set up around the Minnie Mouse topiary flowerbed near the Main Street Train Station at Disneyland Park.
Since then, Disney has made significant progress. According to WDWNT, all construction walls surrounding the flowerbed have been removed, and crews are nearly done installing the “tapstile” system at Disneyland Park. Disney cast members are currently testing the new technology at certain entrances to ensure it functions properly.
However, Disney California Adventure Park is still working to catch up. On Monday, WDWNT reported that crews had installed the final section of construction walls at the leftmost entrance to the park. As a result, guests are temporarily blocked from using this entrance until the last set of “tapstiles” is installed and fully operational.
While Disneyland Resort has yet to confirm an exact timeline for completing the turnstile construction, it seems the goal is to have the new entrance system fully operational in time for the park’s 70th-anniversary celebrations, which begin May 16, 2025. Disneyland Resort itself celebrates its anniversary on July 17.
